I love snack times. I mean those relaxed moments, where you break out of your routine to take time for something you like and load up your batteries. Almost every culture and social circle knows and cultivates them. In England you have the popular “afternoon tea”, in America you enjoy a “coffee break”, Swedish people have their “Fika”, in Turkey you would drink strong black tea in wonderful tiny glasses, in Morocco they would serve you the golden liquid with mint leaves and honey, my afghan sister from another mister always prepares delicious tea with cardamom for me when I visit her and in Poland you would probably drink a hot cup with some slices of lemon. The list is endless, but all these rituals have one thing in common: you lean back and enjoy the present moment.
You can use the break to chat with your friend, read few chapters of a book, play with your dog, go for a walk or just sit and enjoy your own company and your surroundings. And every little break is always better, when you have something to munch on. Usually, I crave something sweet when drinking coffee or tea: stuffed dates, homemade granola bars, some fresh baked cookies, protein balls, a slice of a cake, a big chunk of dark chocolate or just nuts & dried fruits. But sometimes you just know it has to be something savory.
I found the recipe for these crackers few years ago and I stopped counting how many times I´ve already made them. They`re crunchy, slightly salty, super fast & easy to make and can be devoured with pretty much everything. Just make sure you share them with somebody, otherwise you´ll end up eating the whole batch on your own…:)
